The city of Kuching is the capital and the most populous in
the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the capital of Kuching Division.
The city is situated on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of
Sawarak on the island of Borneo and covers an area of 431 square kilo meter
Many people from Pontianak – West Kalimantan go to Kuching
for short vocation or holiday. If we take a bus by grouping, need 8 hours to
reach Kuching. Direct flight will provide 2 times departure a week to Kuching
from Pontianak. I took some times to take break on week-end when I was with
Golden Tulip Pontianak Hotel.
The guests from Kuching also come by grouping of family. They
took bus and spend for 3 days at our hotel. Go to mall, buy the souvenir, ‘oleh-oleh
or buah tangan. For them just take break and to
refresh from daily life
We stayed at The Waterfront hotel, which have nice location
in the heart of Kuching city with view of the Sarawak River, near by the
restaurants and café for hang out. The hotel is opposite of Mall. We just walk
to the surrounded by heritage buildings, closer to reach Café, Restaurants, and
sat down side the river. Some couple tourist from overseas come to visit.
The hotel have great view, room was clean because just had
renovated. Very nice..
One staff told that some of them are Indonesian who live
in Kuching to do their job. One of staff lived at border which is taken 2 hours
by motorbike. The owner of restaurant is provide a house for them and back home
to border on week-end.
Kuching is popular with ‘cat museum in Petra Jaya. The world’s
first cat museum of it’s kind in the world.
The weather is nice, people are good and friendly, culinary
are good. Will you go there?
