Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers Jakarta born as a 5-star hotel under Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. then in May 2012 re-branding became The Media Hotel Jakarta.
In 2004 when i came to this hotel which faced to 8 years. Founded in 1996 in a long period of time. Sheraton Media had been able to prove its existence in the hospitality industry. It has 350 rooms, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a fitness center and a spa. At time I wrote this page, It is 24 years old.
Now an update is that a few months ago the hotel provided assistance to the government to be used as a quarantined covid 19 pandemic place. (not sure, but maybe just an offer).
In period 2004 to 2009, exactly 4 years 8 months as Sales Manager then promoted to be Senior Sales Manager. Thanks to God the Almighty, Mr. Julius Slamet is a person who had contributed to my career. He was the General Manager at time which led me to continue my career path in hotel industry.
At Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers all employees learned and study many things about what is exactly a hotel. We study and work, instead just work. They have a fixed schedule and we are mandatory to attend the training and courses held by Starwood Hotels now we see it as an advantage. So how lucky we are! Three main core is teaching about " Warm, Comforting, Connection ". It is always in mind because they teach, educate, guide all employees to develop, not just doing all jobs but educate employees for own development in the future.
Starwood hotels was one of the largest companies that owned, operated, franchised and managed hotels, resorts, spas, residences and vacation ownership properties. It had 11 brands and owned, managed or franchised 1297 properties comprising 370.000 hotels rooms in approximately 100 countries.
In September 2016, the company was acquired by Marriott International. The Starwood Preferred Guests (SPG) program was merged with Marriott's loyalty program on August 18, 2018.
This photo to reminds me as hotelier who will never stop learning. Currently most of employees have important positions in hotels throughout Indonesia.
