Entertainment Check (English version)

Each hotel has its own policy in providing entertainment checks for the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM). 

This is informed together with the signing of the contract agreement. There is stated that we have an amount of ......... per month as a substitute for employee meal at restaurants outlet. 

For example the hotel gives IDR 5,000,000 for meal allowance of employee posted to the officer check included entertainment cost for clients. 

In other place there are also hotels that provide separate meal allowance at some outlet restaurant an amount IDR 3,000,000 and entertainment costs is unlimited. 

Unlimited entertainment costs required approval signatures from GM & FC for designation. Usually it submit the entertainment form a day before entertaining occurs or some hotels need to receive the forms a week before for good preparation and administration. To plan one week in advance for all entertainment proposal. 

Each hotel varies in the amount of EC and OC fees, depending on hotel policy. EC & OC fees must be provided by internal memo, issued by Human Resource Manager, approved by GM. 

The memo have to be distributed to FB Manager, FB Staffs and outlets. 

Every sales person is deserved for EC and OC fees, depending on the position level. Why? because sales person must know the FB products, especially sales marketer  should sell FB product. Everyone should understand the FB product in the menu related banquet event sales 

In International hotel chains, each sales person is mandatory to entertain their clients. They must provide a schedule of entertainment to DOSM, at least 2 x in a week. The sales person must introduce food products including the menu both regular menu and food promotion. 

The more often they entertain, the more guests are interested to have banquet events, meetings, weddings, birthdays, seminars etc. This thing is also to attract them. 

The cost of entertainment for each sales person to be given varies according to position level. For example IDR 3.000.000 for DOS and IDR 2.500.000 for Sales Manager. 

It is just a regulatory model but the most important thing is that they entitle to have it. 

Hotel management should understand of these points, lest misunderstandings occur between the hotel and the sales person is causing inconvenience. 

Basically, it is to provide the best service to clients when they are in a hotel related to sales marketing activities. 

We should provide the best for our guests, understanding the rules are needed for both party so that the sales person will bring a good hotel image. 

A good administration will show an elegant and organized hotel management.
